The Florida USA-headquartered company DDS Lab, has announced the construction of its first production facility in Latin America.

They are one of the largest laboratories in the production of dental solutions in the United States

The company projects an investment in the country of up to approximately $15 million in upcoming years with the construction and equipping of its industrial facility for producing dental devices.

The plant will be located in the Grecia Free Trade Zone located in Alajuela Province. Among the products the company will be offering from this new operation are crowns, bridges, dentures, and implants used by dentists to restore patients’ dentition.

According to the firm, Costa Rica was the selected Latin American country due to its optimum conditions for the organization’s growth, such as high-skill human talent, an ideal geographic location, and a stable and business-friendly political environment.

“We believe that the Costa Rican educational system is substantially sound and the programs that are underway will enable us to find highly skilled employees for our business," Bart Doedens, CEO of DDS Lab said.

DDS Lab also hopes to open up more than 300 new job positions in the next few months and plans to increase its payroll to as many as 1,000 employees in five years. The professional profiles it will be needing are focused on administration, technology, and dental health. People interested in applying for a job should visit the firm's Careers website.

DDS Lab is one of many U.S. companies hiring in Costa Rica. This week, the Massachusetts-headquartered Viant, a global services provider to the medical device industry, announced the expansion of its medical device manufacturing facility in Heredia Province.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs in Costa Rica, the unemployment rate has increased to 12%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from July to September, show that there are more than 297,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 165,000 are women, making up 55% of unemployed people in the country.
