By the A.M. Costa Rica staff President Carlos Alvarado along with his committee will travel to Scotland in November to participate in the United Nations Conference on Climate Change of 2021, COP26, that will take place in the city of Glasgow. Alvarado will be accompanied by the first lady Claudia Dobles, Rodolfo Solano the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Andrea Meza, Minister of the Environment. The president's Scotland agenda includes to participate in the summit, meet some winners of the $1.3 million-plus Earthshot Award, in which Costa Rica won in the category of Protect and Restore Nature, and participate in the Ashden Awards. During the president's trip from Oct. 30 to Nov. 5, Vice President Epsy Campbell will be in charge of the country. Recently, Alvarado and his committee traveled to Panama, Mexico and the United States. Alvarado’s international business trips are nearing the end of his administration, as his term ends on May 8, 2022. ---------------------- How are these excursions a priority for Costa Rica amidst a pandemic?
