The Guapiles Public Hospital in Limón Province is carrying out this week, a campaign for cataract surgeries, according to Social Security.
The health worker's goal is to provide medical attention to 200 patients this week which is about performing 40 surgeries a day. These surgeries are ambulatory which means the time that the person will spend in the operating room will be approximately 20 minutes.
Then, the patient will receive medications on the same day and be taken to recovery at home.
This campaign is part of an effort to reduce waiting times for medical appointments. Medical services are performed on patients who are registered in the hospital's database.
Hospital workers will call patients to set up medical appointments. Authorities recommend for patients to keep their contact information updated. People with pending cataract surgeries can obtain more information about the medical campaign by visiting the hospital information office.
Social
Security has launched several massive
medical service campaigns to recover
the medical services delayed in the
last two years due to the
pandemic. Recently,
The Esparza Canton public clinic,
in Puntarenas Province, was
carrying out a campaign for
several medical treatments. To better
serve their clients, the
dental team of the National
Geriatric Public Hospital are
offering home dentistry to all
patients who cannot go to the
hospital. --------------------
