The Esparza Canton public clinic, in Puntarenas Province, is carrying out this week, a campaign of medical treatments, according to Social Security.

The health worker's goal is to provide medical attention to more than 3,500 patients of dermatology, optometry, physiatry, vasectomies, gynecology, mammograms and dental care among others.

They will also carry out fast diagnostic tests for the detection of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), including for people non-member of the Social Security.

Most of the medical care team will be provided at the facilities of the Hugo Millet Carranza Hall in Esparza.

Specialists will also provide the prescriptions to receive medications on the same day.

This campaign is part of an effort to reduce waiting times for medical appointments. Medical services are performed on patients who are registered in the hospital's database.

Clinic workers will call patients to set up medical appointments. Authorities recommend for patients to keep their contact information updated.

People with pending medical appointments can obtain more information about the medical campaign by visiting the clinic information office.

Social Security has launched several massive medical service campaigns to recover the medical services delayed in the last two years due to the pandemic. The Enrique Baltodano Briceņo Public Hospital in Guanacaste announced a campaign for dermatology medical treatments.

To better serve their clients, the dental team of the National Geriatric Public Hospital are now offering home dentistry to all patients who cannot go to the hospital.

Recently, the Faculty University of Costa Rica announced a campaign for low-cost dental services for the public.

During the first quarter of this year, from January to March, Social Security increased the number of surgeries and medical appointments due to the decrease in cases of covid-19.
