The British
magazine Wanderlust Travel recognized
Costa Rica as the most desired country
by tourists, according to the Tourism
Institute.
The Windsor, Berkshire-based Wanderlust Travel, is a British monthly travel magazine covering tourism.
The magazine placed Costa Rica at the top of the list of annual awards for the category: "Most Desirable Country (Long Haul) 2022."
According to the institute, the country was recognized after obtaining good scores from a panel of expert judges and magazine readers' opinions.
“Win this award and being recognized by hundreds of passionate travelers and readers of Wanderlust is an incredible achievement,” said William Rodríguez, Minister of Tourism who traveled to receive the award on behalf of the country.
This week the institute is promoting the country as a reliable destination at the World Travel Market (WTM) tourist fair which is held this week in London, England.
According to the institute, the country offers a wide variety of options for contact with nature with the partnership of 32 companies that participated in the fair. Representatives of these companies are holding round tables of negotiations with British and European travel agents and tour operators.
As of October, over 55,000 British tourists have visited Costa Rica. The institute statistics show that each British tourist who entered the Juan Santamaría International Airport had an average expense of $133 per day with a stay of close to 15 nights.
Just last year, over 1.3 million tourists visited Costa Rica. ------------------ |
