The Chicago, Illinois headquartered marketing firm, Active Campaign, announced the opening of a branch in Escazu Canton, San José.

"Being a customer-obsessed organization, we are thrilled to be investing in LATAM as well as our overall customer experience to better serve our customers in the region and globally," said Jason VandeBoom, founder and CEO of Active Campaign. "Being closer to our global customers means more frequent feedback and fruitful collaboration with the businesses we serve."

Active Campaign will be able to support more businesses in the region and across the globe that need resources in both English and Spanish, they said.

The firm is hiring 100 employees for its engineering, customer and recruiting teams to start in May. People interested in applying for a job vacancy should visit the company's careers website.

Active Campaign is one of many U.S. firms hiring in Costa Rica. Recently, the California-headquartered firm, Sysdig Inc. announced the hiring for its Costa Rican offices, to meet growing demand from clients in global markets.

Also, more than 50 international companies will be hiring at a job fair held in San José from April 21 to 23. Companies are offering about 3,500 available jobs.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, the unemployment rate remains at 11.8%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from November 2022 to January 2023, shows that there are more than 287,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 148,000 are women, making up 51% of unemployed people in the country.
