The
mandatory order of the vaccine
against covid-19 for public
employees remains intact,
according to the National
Commission for Vaccination. The
study was done in response to a
decree signed by President Rodrigo
Chaves and the Minister of Health,
which ordered an investigation to
support the rulings issued by
Daniel Salas, the former Minister
of Health. “The
mandatory vaccination of the adult
population is not a merely
scientific measure, it is also a
strategy that helps to increase
the coverage of vaccines in the
population in groups of workers
identified as at risk and those
who provide public services, with
the aim of to protect the health
and safety of the entire
population,” the commission said
in its statement. After
an analysis made by the
commission, they made a series of
recommendations to Joselyn Chacón,
Minister of Health. Among the most
important reasons given by the
specialists to continue with the
vaccination mandate are:
The
commission concludes that
there is scientific evidence
proving that vaccination
against covid is the best
strategy to reduce the
transmission of the disease.
It mainly reduces the number
of serious cases and
mortality.

On
Tuesday, the Ministry of
Health reported 8,495 deaths
listed as covid-19 related,

The pandemic has killed more
than 6.3 million people
worldwide, according to Johns
