The Traffic Police announced there will not be a restriction on vehicle plate numbers in San José City during the holidays.

The benefit will apply from Monday, Dec. 19 to Friday, Jan. 6, 2023. During those days, drivers with any license plate number are free to move on any weekday in the city.

The rule was paused due to the traffic reduction when most of the public institution employees and public schools were on vacation. For that reason, it is not necessary to apply the ban-on-driving rule in the zone inside the capital city, known as the Circunvalación Route.

Police are warning travelers to respect the rules as they’ll be out in full force. The police launched road surveillance operations during the holidays.
