The Boston headquartered Newfire Global Partners announced the expansion of its operations in Cariari Canton, Heredia Province.
As part of the expansion, they are opening 100 new job vacancies estimated to increase to about 180 employees. Additional growth efforts include the inauguration of their new offices in the Urban Plaza Building in Lindora, San José
According to the firm, they were recognized by Inc. Magazine as one of the fastest-growing companies headquartered in the United States, developing customized software solutions in the healthcare, educational and financial industries.
“When we began operations in May 2022, we planned to invest close to $5M in the country this year," Stephen S. Hau, CEO, said. " The acquisition of this new office along with the opening of 100 new positions go hand-in-hand with that vision and are aligned with our corporate strategy. The results obtained in these past months definitely encourage us to continue betting on Costa Rica.”
International service companies, such as Newfire, are one of the most dynamic sectors in the country that employ more than 101,000 people, according to the Foreign Trade Ministry statistics.
Candidates that want to apply for mid-level roles require at least three years of experience while senior-level positions require a minimum of five years. Open positions are specifically focused on software development professionals with technologies including Java, Ruby On Rails, .Net Core, Golang, Node.js, JavaScript, Angular React, React Native, Kotlin, Swift, product owners, and scrum masters.
Newfire Global Partners offers all team members a comprehensive benefits package including generous PTO, private medical insurance, on-the-job training, in-house coaching, mentoring, and referral bonuses.
Newfire is one of many international companies investing in Costa Rica. Recently, the Alberta-Headquartered Critical Mass, a Canadian company focused on digital experiences, announced the expansion of its operations in the country.
Even though
new businesses are creating jobs in Costa
Rica, the unemployment rate remains at
11.8%, according to the National
Employment Survey. The data recorded from
June to August, show that there are more
than 292,000 people without registered
jobs. Of these, 154,000 are women, making
up 52% of unemployed people in the
country.
