The
Washington-based company Smartsheet, a
U.S. technology company that provides
a platform for work management,
announced the expansion of its
facilities located at the
Cariari Corporate Center in Heredia
Province. “We chose
to expand our international presence
in Costa Rica given the country's
proven experience in the services
industry," Mark Mader, Smartsheet CEO
said. " The outstanding work of our
Costa Rican team has allowed us to
reach new heights as a company this
year, and I’m excited to see the
growing team contributes even more to
Smartsheet’s global success in 2023
and beyond.” Smartsheet
counts for 80% of Fortune 500
companies and a significant number of
small- and medium-sized businesses,
including educational and
governmental, and non-profit
organizations, as its customers.
The firm is actively seeking candidates with professional profiles in areas such as sales, financial operations, business operations, technical support, human resources, customer service, auditing, RPA automation, quality control, and creative design. Those interested in applying for a job should visit the firm's Careers site.
Even though new businesses are creating jobs, the unemployment rate has increased to 11.6%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from September to November shows that there are more than 287,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 165,000 are women, making up 57% of unemployed people in the country.
Smartsheet is one of many international firms investing in Costa Rica. Recently, the Ontario, Canada-headquartered Bill Gosling Outsourcing (BGO) announced the opening of more than 300 job vacancies in Costa Rica.
