“Costa Rica has been a great strategic partner for us! Their highly educated workforce and ready English language skills are key factors in helping us serve our clients," Kenny Johnston, President of Bill Gosling Outsourcing said. "In addition, legal certainty and the Free Trade Zone regime proved advantageous to select the country from among our growth plans and in this way, create more job options for Costa Ricans.”

The firm is hiring to provide support in agent and customer service positions, as well as leadership roles to serve clients in the United States and Canada.

Among other requirements, applicants must have strategic skills related to creativity and innovation, as well as a genuine interest in continuous learning. BGO emphasized that no previous experience is required to apply for these positions. Operating from 10 global facilities in 6 countries –the U.S., UK, Canada, Costa Rica, the Philippines, and Trinidad and Tobago – the company employs more than 3,500 people and offers three main services: live agent support, technology solutions, and professional services.

According to the Minister of Foreign Commerce companies like BGO boost Costa Rica's exports in terms of knowledge-based services, which in the third quarter of last year were $5.4 billion, a growth of 14.3 % over the same period in 2021, which serves to highlight the sector’s dynamism.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, the unemployment rate has increased to 11.6%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from September to November shows that there are more than 287,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 165,000 are women, making up 57% of unemployed people in the country.

BGO is one of many international firms investing in Costa Rica. Recently, the Connecticut-headquartered OKAY Industries, a contract manufacturer of metal and plastic over-molded components and subassemblies for global medical devices, announced a major expansion of its Costa Rica operations.
