Expect delays for road closure this week due to a road extension and traffic circle construction project being carried out in Betania District ( 41 St.,13 Ave., 39 Rd.) in San José Province, authorities from the Ministry of Transports warn.

During that time, hot mix asphalt will be placed on different roads that make up the project.
The closure will start from the Hispanidad Bridge, ( 53 and 49 St., Central Ave., 2nd Rd.) in San Pedro City to the traffic circle known as La Bandera in Betania District.
The same closure schedule will be executed also from 8 p.m Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.
Traffic
police have posted signs to guide
drivers about closures and detours.
Authorities advise drivers to avoid
circulating in both areas to get stuck
in traffic.
According to the ministry, these works are in their final phase, with an advance of 85%, so the new highway is scheduled to be inaugurated in April.
The total project was budgeted at $21 million, financed with a loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration. To carry out the construction, the ministry contracted the private company La Puentes y Calzadas.
More infrastructure improvements are taking place in the rural area of the country. Last week, the installation began of a new bridge crossing over Quebrada Honda River in Mora Canton, located in western San José Province.
In February, the construction of a new dam at Grande de Térraba River in Puntarenas Province broke ground.
