Boston, Massachusetts-headquartered Reebok, a fitness footwear and clothing brand store will inaugurate this weekend its first store in Multiplaza Curridabat Mall in San José.

According to the firm they invested about $300,000 with Altmon Brands, a division of the Costa Rican company Grupo A.

 

“We feel very proud and grateful. We have the brand in its new stage of growth and renewal to guarantee Costa Rica a varied product offer that includes footwear, clothing, and accessories for men, women, and children,” said Alan Alter, General Manager of Grupo A.

The opening will take place this weekend ahead of mid-year school vacation. The footwear and sportswear market is growing in Costa Rica. The practice of sports in the country has increased, as well as the inclusion of sports fashion in the casual world of everyday life, they said.

Previously, the brand had a presence in the Costa Rican market through distribution stores, but now they are renewing its business with the first exclusive shop.

Reebok designs, manufactures, distributes and sells fitness, running and CrossFit sportswear including clothing and accessories.

Reebok is one of many U.S. brand stores opening in Costa Rica. Recently, the Charlotte, N.C.-Headquartered pastry shop, Krispy Kreme opened its first cafeteria in San José.
