Mexican low-cost airline Volaris launched new flights between Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and El Dorado International Airport (BOG) in Bogotá, Colombia, according to the Tourism Institute.

The new flight on Monday, Thursday and Saturday, leaves from Costa Rica at 9:30 a.m. local time, arriving in Bogotá at 12:45 p.m. local time. The return flight from Colombia leaves at 1:30 p.m. local time, arriving in SJO at 2:45 p.m. local time.

Currently, the airline offers more flights from SJO to El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia and the U.S.

With these routes, the airline will increase its passenger flow, which since its start of operations in 2016, has exceeded two million people, the institute said.

Recently, Volares announced new direct flights between Costa Rica and Perú.

Volaris is one of many airlines increasing the frequency of their flights to Costa Rica. Recently, three U.S. airlines announced more flights to the Guanacaste airport.
