The Monseñor Víctor Manuel Sanabria Public Hospital located in Puntarenas Province began a massive dermatology medical care campaign.

According to Social Security, this week's campaign goal is to serve at least 1,600 patients assigned to this hospital.

Dermatology specialists will provide medical treatments such as skin condition checks, biopsies or even low-risk surgeries that can be performed on the same day.

Hospital workers will contact patients, based on their registration information, to set up medical appointments.

Residents of Puntarenas with pending dermatology treatments can obtain more information about the medical campaign by visiting the hospital information office.

This is one of a handful of non-emergency medical service campaigns that Social Security has launched to reduce waiting times for medical appointments. The campaigns are an attempt to catch up on all non-emergency services put on hold during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

Recently, the public clinic located in Curridabat Canton in San José Province launched a campaign to detect breast and uterine cancer in women.

During the first quarter of this year, from January to March, Social Security increased the number of surgeries and medical appointments due to decreased cases of covid-19.
