By the A.M. Costa Rica staff Tourists should not present the covid pass, which certifies that they are fully vaccinated, as a requirement to enter the natural parks and conservation areas, announced the National System of Conservation Areas. The mandated covid pass is obtained through a Quick Response Security code, QR, which is a type of barcode that contains the person's vaccination information. This technology will allow for quick verification of the status of vaccination against covid-19. The new covid pass rule allows businesses to require the covid pass of all customers, allowing more clients inside the establishment. Otherwise, if the business allows entering mixed-status vaccinated clientele (with and without the covid pass) the number of people allowed to enter is reduced. Since the covid pass will not be requested, visitors must comply with the sanitary guidelines such as handwashing upon entry, wearing a face mask inside the park all the time, keeping six feet social distance, entering with social bubbles. According to the authorities, since September there have been 204,401 tourists who have visited the natural parks. This figure is expected to increase with the arrival of the peak tourism season, between December and April. Recently, authorities announced that natural parks in the country will keep their doors open to visitors during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Including the Turrialba Volcano National Park which reopened this week. ------------------------ Are you for or against the covid pass as a requirement to enter tourist places in Costa Rica?
