Costa Rica wins five medals in Pan American Games

The 2019 Pan American Games, the multi-sport event governed by the Panam Sports Organization, was held in Lima, Peru, from July 26 to August 11, where the Costa Rican team won a gold medal and four bronze medals.
According to the Sports Institute, the medal winners were:
One gold medal was won by the athlete Andrea Vargas, in the category of running Women's 100m hurdles.
President Carlos Alvarado, spoke by video chat with Andrea Vargas to thank her for the triumph in the competition. "Gold for Costa Rica! How exciting! Andrea, what a champion! Excellent performance in the 100 meters hurdles. Thank you for giving us this joy!" he said.
The first bronze medal was won by the Racquetball team, Felipe Camacho and Andrés Acuña, in the Men's Doubles category.
The second bronze medal was won by the women's soccer team or football as it is known worldwide. "Daniela Cruz scored the goal at minute 82, with which Costa Rica defeated Paraguay 1-0 on Friday," the institute said in its statement.
The third bronze medal was won by Neshy Lee Lindo Álvarez in the taekwondo category. "She beat Argentina's Gianella Evollo 10-3 to leave the bronze medal at -57 kg," said the institute.
The fourth bronze medal won by Diana Brenes, in the category of female Judo weight -78 kg.
"The ethic was won by hansoku, after being penalized for three minor faults (Shido) in the duel for the bronze, winning against Mina Coulombe from Canada, winning over Kaliema Antomarchi from Cuba and winning against Lucia Cantero from Argentina, " said the institute in its report.
At the end of the games, Costa Rica is in 22nd place.
The first positions were:
The United States in first place with 293 medals: 120 gold, 88 silver, and 85 bronze.
Second, was Brazil with 171 medals: 55 gold, 45 silver, and 71 bronze.
In third place, Mexico with 136 medals: 37 gold, 36 silver, and 63 bronze.
And in fourth place, Canada with 152 medals: 35 gold, 64 silver, and 53 bronze.
