As of today, construction begins for the restoration works of the bridge over the Reventado river in the San Francisco de Asis District in Cartago Province.

According to the Ministry of Public Transportation, works in the area could last 45 days. The bridge will be closed during the nights from February 8 to 24.

Authorities recommend drivers avoid traveling through the area. However, transit officers will be directing traffic through the two detour routes for those who must travel to the zones nearby the bridge.

The first detour starts on Route 10 until it reaches Route 219. The second optional route is from Route 401 until reaching Route 2019.

The ministry budgeted about $250,000 and hired the private company PROCON for this project.

This is the time for implementing road improvements. Recently, work for the new viaduct in Curridabat Canton in San José Province started and will last until July 2024.
