Any foreigner interested in working remotely from Costa Rica has now access to the information on benefits and requirements to request a special digital nomad visa.

The Tourism Institute, ICT, launched the "Live, work and explore in Costa Rica" website specialized in information for digital nomads.

The site displays information about the benefits and requirements of the digital nomad visa. Learn the steps to obtaining the issuance of the visa and how to obtain medical insurance.

The website also includes a link to the General Directorate of Migration web, to reach the forms to request the visa. As well as the link to download Law 10,008, known as the "Digital Nomads Law."

According to authorities, the recent approval of the Digital Nomads Law is important to reactivate the national economy.

"Our most significant potential (of visitors) is in those countries where Costa Rica has a better position and knowledge, such as the United States, where 50% of digital nomads are coming from," Carolina Trejos, Marketing Director of the institute, said. "We are a country with high connectivity (of the internet) that allows visitors to reach their companies from anywhere."

According to statistics from the institute, digital nomads are people with an average monthly income between $3,000 and $5,000.

They usually travel alone or with their families, the institute said.

This new preference for remote work is also becoming a tourist trend that is growing and will continue to do so in the coming years. Digital nomads are expected to become a community of travelers around the world.

So far this year, there have been over 1.2 million tourists in Costa Rica.

As part of an overall plan to boost tourism, recently, authorities promoted Costa Rica in England.

Authorities expect a significant increase in tourists after a new visa for International Digital Nomads was recently made available in the country.

Last year, over 1.3 million tourists visited Costa Rica.
