The agreement was signed by the Costa Rican minister, Carlos Manuel Rodríguez and the Korean minister, Jae Hyun Kim. According to the Ministry, the agreement is for cooperation between both countries to exchange knowledge related to forest development. "It is a commitment to recover the forest of each country and to consolidate a sustainable development model with low emissions," said minister Rodríguez. According to the ministry, the agreement is valid for three years, automatically renewable for additional years. The farmers will get the payments from the National Fund for Forest Financing. ----------------------- Did you know any farmers who would like to receive money in exchange for protecting existing forest or increasing the amount of forest on their properties?
