The Houston, TX, U.S.A.-headquartered company, Serverless  Solutions, opened its first office in the America Free Zone in Heredia Province.

According to the firm, the new facilities investment is estimated at half a million dollars to provide professional services in implementing and managing cloud solutions, which support digital transformation for small and medium-sized companies in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.

“This decision presents us with an excellent opportunity to add highly qualified and multilingual professional resources to our team to better serve our current market and explore new possibilities," said Jon Sorensen, co-founder of Serverless Solutions. "We are excited to work simultaneously, with no time difference impact, with Costa Rican talent.”

Currently, the company has 11 employees and expects to hire more than 20 professionals to assist in consulting processes to implement and manage technology projects and services.

Open job vacancies are for experts in developing technology solutions including recent university graduates. Those interested in applying may send their resume to CRJobs@serverless-solutions.com.

Serverless Solutions is one of many U.S. firms investing in Costa Rica. This week, the Massachusetts-headquartered medical devices producer corporation, Boston Scientific, announced the expansion of its operations by adding a new manufacturing plant in Cartago Province.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, the unemployment rate has increased to 11.7%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from October to December 2022, shows that there are more than 287,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 159,000 are women, making up 55% of unemployed people in the country.
