The Boston, Massachusetts-headquartered tech company Navisite, announced the expansion of its global presence with a new office in the WeWork Cariari Corporate Center, in Heredia Province.

According to the firm, they will take advantage of the country’s investment in digital readiness and highly skilled, educated workforce to provide cloud, enterprise application, data management, intelligent automation and cyber security solutions.

“Costa Rica offers a diverse, digitally savvy workforce that will enable us to grow our presence in Latin America and support the needs of customers with the resources and capabilities they need in the region as they look to modernize their businesses,” said Mark Clayman, CEO of Navisite.

The new office will enable Navisite to better support the needs of its customers and augment its global team of experts with additional digital skills in areas including software development, data analytic, cloud and cyber security.

The company is hiring in Costa Rica. Candidates must have English proficiency. People interested in applying for a job vacancy should visit the firm Careers website.

Navisite is one of many American firms investing in Costa Rica. Last week, Texas, U.S.A.-headquartered Huntsman Corporation opened its Global Business Services (GBS) Center in Heredia Province.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs, the unemployment rate remains at 11.8%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from November 2022 to January 2023, shows that there are more than 287,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 148,000 are women, making up 51% of unemployed people in the country.

Recently, the government issued nine decrees for implementing Law No. 10234 on "Strengthening of Territorial Competitiveness for Attracting Investment Outside the Greater Metropolitan Area (GMA)," which is an area made up of cities in the outskirts of San José such as Alajuela, Heredia and Cartago.

Last week, the rating agency Standard & Poor's (S&P) upgraded Costa Rica's credit rating. They increased from a “B” to a “B+” rating. The improvement in the credit rating means that there is less risk for international investors.
