The Corporation, commonly known as Hyatt Hotels & Resorts, is a Chicago, U.S.-headquartered multinational hospitality company that manages and franchises luxury and business hotels, resorts, and vacation properties worldwide.
Currently, the Hyatt brand runs three public hotels in Costa Rica: the Andaz Costa Rica Resort at Peninsula Papagayo, in Guanacaste, the Dreams Las Mareas in La Cruz in Guanacaste and the Hyatt Place at Plaza Momentum Pinares in Curridabat in San José.
According to the corporation, the new hotel Hyatt Centric brand will be open due to the management agreement reached with one of the group’s affiliates, Caribe Hospitality.
The hotel will be located in Escazu Canton in San José and is expected to open in 2024. It will mark the third Hyatt Centric hotel in Central America.
Hyatt Centric will be located along the Próspero Fernández Highway in Escazu, within the Plaza Tempo Shop Center. The property will offer 161 modern guest rooms and suites, an all-day dining restaurant and full-service bar, a large fitness center, 4,000 sq ft of event space, as well as a fully equipped coffee bar and lounge.
“As Hyatt seeks further growth of its lifestyle brand portfolio in key markets that matter to our guests, World of Hyatt members, and customers, we are thrilled to team up with Caribe Hospitality to continue the expansion of the Hyatt Centric brand in Central America," said Camilo Bolaños, senior vice president of development, Latin America and the Caribbean, Hyatt.
Hyatt has more than 1,100 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 69 countries across six continents.
Hyatt is one of many international hotels opening in Costa Rica. Recently, the Laguna Beach, California-based Soul Community Planet (SCP) Hotels announced its acquisition of the 189-acre Casa Corcovado Jungle Lodge located in the Osa Peninsula in Puntarenas Province, marking its first international expansion.
