![]() On Friday, in the Public Library of Puntarenas, there will be free workshops on making indigenous masks. The activity is for children. The workshop starts at 3 p.m. Make reservations by calling 2661-3748 On Saturday. Parque la Libertad community club in Desamparados Canton, San José, will hold the workshop to make indigenous masks. The workshop is for children from 9 to 12 years old, it starts at 10 a.m. Make reservations by calling 2276-9400. Halloween Haunted Mountain of the Dolls hiking tour organized by Retos del Irazú Sports Club. The night tour includes visiting the abandoned Duran Sanatorium in Cartago. It starts at 5 p.m. and is for beginners. Tour rate $13 pp. Make reservations by calling 8378-3556. Halloween Night Race organized by the Athletics Runners School Sports Academy. The race starts at 7 p.m. from the club's facilities in Paraiso Canton, Cartago. Runners must wear a costume. The all-ages Halloween Nightmare on Wheels party, is organized by the Roller Skating Salon Music in San Pedro, San José. The party will take place from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Best costumes win prizes. Sea turtles arrival at Ostional National Park, Guanacaste Province starts at 6:30 a.m. with an expert guide from the Ostional Tourist Guides Association. One day tour in the Laberinto Katira Park, located in Guatuso Canton, Alajuela Province, where the visitor can walk through natural areas and explore the two largest mazes in the country. Diquis Museum offers walking tours through the archeological zone known as Finca Sitio 6, in Palmar Sur, Osa Canton, Puntarenas Province. Simón Bolívar Zoo in downtown San José opens at 9 a.m. The place is home to more than 70 species of animals and a large number of tropical plants. Entrance costs about $7 pp at the zoo box office. Santa Ana Conservation Center,, located in the city of the same name in San José Province, opens at 9 a.m. The place has animal farms, trails and tropical gardens. The entry costs about $7 pp and can be purchased at the zoo's box office. Lankester Botanical Gardens, a set of gardens located in Dulce Nombre Canton, Cartago Province, opens from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The entry price is about $10 pp at the box office. Friday and Saturday, the Calderón Guardia Museum in downtown San José, hosts the last weekend for the free Pablo Picasso exhibit, which consists of 40 drawing - paintings by the famous Spanish artist. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Sunday, National Museum, located in downtown San José, will continue this weekend with their exhibit, “Blanco, Azul y Rojo” celebrating the 200th anniversary of independence. Museum of Art in downtown San José presents the free art exhibit, "Worlds within a world" and Latin American art from private collections. Gold Museum, in downtown San José, presents the exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. In addition, the new bicentennial coin will be displayed. Movies ![]() This weekend, at local movie theaters, the new film playing is "Antlers," a film about an isolated Oregon town, a middle-school teacher and her sheriff brother become embroiled with her enigmatic student, whose dark secrets lead to terrifying encounters with a legendary ancestral creature who came before them.
