Here is a list of in-person activities for
this weekend, beginning today through

Outdoor
activities
 On Friday, the free workshop to learn how to make handcrafted masks will take place at the Public Library of Puntarenas. The activity for children begins at 3 p.m. Make reservations by calling 2661-3748. On Friday and Saturday, free recreational activities for children and the elderly will take place at Parque La Libertad Center in Desamparados Canton. On Saturday. The Rio Urbano Club calls volunteers to clean the Torres River in San José Province. The cleaning will begin at 8 a.m. at the Spirogyra Butterfly Park in Guadalupe. Hiking tour to the Cabécar Jameikari Indigenous Territory in Barbilla National Park, in Limon Province organized by Ticos A Pata tour guides. One day tour in the Laberinto Katira Park, located in Guatuso Canton, Alajuela Province, where the visitor can walk through natural areas and explore the two largest mazes in the country. Simón Bolívar Zoo in downtown San José opens at 9 a.m. The place is home to more than 70 species of animals and a large number of tropical plants. Entrance costs about $7 pp at the zoo box office. Santa Ana Conservation Center, located in the city of the same name in San José Province, opens at 9 a.m. The place has animal farms, trails and tropical gardens. Tickets cost about $7 pp and can be purchased at the zoo's box office. Lankester Botanical Gardens, a set of gardens located in Dulce Nombre Canton, Cartago Province, opens from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The entry price is about $10 pp at the box office. Kalambu Hot Springs Water Park located in La Fortuna, northern zone of Alajuela Province, offers more than 10 aquatic activities and hot springs pools.  On Sunday. The American football Game Tour organized by Union Pro-Football CR will take place at Piedras Blancas sports plaza in Perez Zeledon, San José. The first match starts at 10:30 a.m. between women's teams of Pumas from Alajuela and Valkirias from Perez Zeledon. The second game between men's teams starts at 11:30 am between the Southern Knights from of Perez Zeledon and the Saints from Heredia. Free pass. More information on the Union's facebook page. The free Ride Rosa bike tour will take place to aid the Ross Foundation against breast cancer. The activity is organized by Cleteros MTB Bikers Club. It will start at 8 a.m. in Sabana Park, San José. The requirement is to wear a white or pink shirt. Bikers can help the foundation by purchasing the items for biking such as $8 t-shirts, $3.5 mask, $5 water bottle, and $2 hand strap. Today, Friday at 6 p.m. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Entrance is $16 pp that must be purchased on the theater's website. On Saturday, Oktoberfest organized by Beer Designers Brewing Co, this year’s is at Vuelta al Mundo Restaurant in Grecia Canton, Alajuela Province. There will be German folk food and barrel beer. The National Theater Company presents the play “A murder on the boat” by the La Bicicleta theater company for free at the Teatro-1887 in downtown San José. The Eugene O'Neill Theater, in downtown San José presents the classic ballet Coppélia, with dancers Stanislav Belyaevsky & Anastasia Dunets from the Spirit Dance Academy.  Friday and Saturday, the Calderón Guardia Museum in downtown San José, presents the free Pablo Picasso exhibition, which consists of 40 art pieces- paintings by the famous Spanish artist. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Sunday, National Museum, located in downtown San José, presents the exhibition of stone handicrafts of about 2000 to 1000 years old. The museum hours on Friday are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Sunday, the hours change from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tickets cost $11. For more information call 2211-5700. This weekend. Children's Museum, in downtown San José, will host a Dinosaur exhibition and animatronics giant bugs. The museum opens at 9 a.m. Purchase the $5 tickets on the Museum's website. Make reservations by calling 7003-7070. Jade Museum in downtown San José will present this weekend the exhibition of the archaeological and artistic pre-colonization period. Entry price $32. The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 2521-6610. Gold Museum, in downtown San José, presents the exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. In addition, the new bicentennial coin will be displayed. Also, on display in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry price is $15. Museum of Art, located in Sabana, San José, presents the free exhibition this "Habitable Worlds" by Christian Wedel.  On Friday and Saturday, the Latinoamericano Film Festival will take place at the Movies National Center in downtown San José, showing films "Panquiaco" from Panama and "Tempestad" from Mexico, among others. This weekend, at local movie theaters, the new film playing is “Halloween Kills.” The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode continues in the next thrilling chapter of the Halloween series.
