Reckless driving continues on an upswing, more than 36,750 drivers were fined for breaking the Traffic Law, according to Traffic Police.
As of August, officers fined over 24,100 drivers for wrongful parking. They must pay about a $90 fine. The Traffic Law authorizes officers to seize the license plates or even the vehicle for improper parking.
Officers also fined more than 4,600 drivers for not wearing seat belts. Also, some 1,850 drivers were fined for not enforcing passengers to wear their seat belts. Drivers must pay a fine of about $180.
They also fined over 2,600 motorcycle riders for not wearing a helmet or wearing it incorrectly. Additionally, more than 1,500 riders were fined because their passenger wasn't wearing a helmet. Riders must pay a fine of about $180.

call on drivers to respect the law

to the 911 emergency line.
