The Quepos Beach Catholic Church in Puntarenas Province will host a massive campaign for free medical services that will be carried out by Social Security.
Health workers will provide medical services from Monday, March 28 to Friday, April 1. Their goal is to provide 4,000 Social Security affiliated patients with health services.
Medical care includes dental care, skin care, general medicine, electrocardiograms, optometry, blood donation, breast cancer detection test, human papillomavirus medical test, blood donations and AIDS detection test, among many others.
People interested in getting tested for AIDS do not need to be affiliated with Social Security. That service is open to the public.
About 180 health workers will be attending patients from March 28 to April. Hours are from Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday, medical attention will be provided from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Patients must be registered at the Quepos Beach public clinic or the Max Terán Valls hospital in Puntarenas Province, have their ID (Dimex ID in the case of residents), and self-attest that they are not in a covid quarantine order or have any covid symptoms.
This is the second mass medical services campaign launched by Social Security this month. Last week, about 300 people in Puntarenas Province got their eye cataract-removal surgery.
Social Security reported an increase in the scheduling of surgeries throughout the country due to the decrease in attention to covid cases that allows a gradual recovery in the supply of public medical services.
