Costa Rica's Export Promotion Agency, Procomer, is promoting ornamental tropical plants at the IPM Essen fair which is held this week in Essen, Germany.
The agency is supporting Costa Rican plant exporters companies, such as Palmeto, ISA, Coope India R.L., Micro Plantas S.A., Ornamentales Río Molino S.A., Agropecuaria Hermanos Pacheco S.A. and DGJ Capco de Costa Rica S.A.
According to the agency, the fair is visited by about 54,000 people from 45 countries and displays over 1,500 plant exporters stands.
Representatives
of Costa Rican companies met with
potential buyers from Germany, Holland,
Russia, England, Spain, Turkey, the
Middle East, North Africa, India, China,
Singapore, Chile, Canada and the United
States, the agency said.
"The IPM Essen fair allows entrepreneurs to approach new markets as well as improve their businesses," Mario Sáenz, Procomer Manager said. The goal of the Costa Rican company's participation in the fair is to find new customers and boost their exports. Costa Rica exports about $130 million in plants, flowers and foliage. Of these, more than 200 varieties are plants and more than 1,200 are flowers and foliage. The main markets are the United States, Holland and Belgium.
