The Central
American Trade Conference starts on
Monday at the Royal Intercontinental
Hotel in Escazú Canton, San José.
The summit will have the presence of U.S. high-ranking authorities and representatives of several U.S. companies.
The goal of the summit is to boost U.S. exports to the region and strengthen economic relations between the countries such as Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Panama.
According to the U.S. Embassy, the summit inauguration will be led by speeches of Marisa Lago, the U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade, Owen E. Herrnstadt member of the Board of Directors of the U.S. Export-Import Banks and Cynthia Telles, U.S. Ambassador to Costa Rica.
Also, representatives of about 62 U.S. companies will participate in the summit. They will hold business meetings with representatives of Central American companies.
