The Argentina-based Globant, dedicated to providing digital solutions, announced job vacancies for 200 people to work in its facilities located in Real Cariari Industrial Zone, in Heredia Province.

The company currently has 75 employees and adds to the more than 60 offices that Globant operates throughout the world. The company overall employs more than 24,000 professionals, they said.

“At Globant, we seek to create opportunities wherever talent is found, and we see that there is exceptional capacity in the region," Santiago San Martín, Globant Country Manager for Costa Rica and Mexico said. "We believe that our local team will be able to create a huge impact, while finding great opportunities for professional development, through our vision for a company that thinks globally and is focused on innovation and technology.”

Globant seeks all kinds of talent around the country, from professionals with technical knowledge to recent graduates with an intermediate-to-advanced level of English. Open job vacancies are for departments such as technology, sales, support, engineering, IT, innovation and customer service among others. People interested may visit the firm's Career site.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Trade, in 2021, the services sector represented 38% of GDP for the country's total exports, banking on digital and innovative transformations. Between 2020 and 2021,  digital technologies-related services exports alone grew by 9.6% to reach $1.4725 billion.

Global is one of many international companies hiring in Costa Rica. Recently, the Massachusetts-based Thermo Fisher Scientific announced the expansion of its operations in the country.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs in Costa Rica, the unemployment rate is 13.3%, according to the National Employment Survey. The survey reveals that, from February to April, there are approximately more than 325,000 people without registered jobs. Of these 176,000 are women which is 54% of unemployed people in the country.
