The U.S. startup Hakkoda has open job vacancies for working at its facilities located in Ultralag Free Zone in Heredia Province.

According to the firm, they offer cloud services, including data governance, automated or machine learning, and application development. Services will be provided in English, as they are destined for the U.S. market.

The company seeks staff with skills in data engineering, analytics, and machine learning, as well as an ability to work with large data sets in the cloud, data integration, and SQL/ Python/ Scala scripting. Those interested in applying for open positions may visit the company's Jobs site.

The firm is celebrating the first anniversary of its opening operations in Costa Rica. “We have had an incredible year, due in no small part to our ability to hire and deeply develop data skills in Costa Rica," Erik Duffield, Hakkoda CEO said. "We have a lot of market momentum and look forward to continuing to drive data innovation and an amazing company culture.”

Hakkoda is one of many companies hiring in Costa Rica. Recently, the Michigan-headquartered Altimetrik, a digital business company, announced the opening of its operations and job vacancies in the country.

Even though new businesses are creating jobs in Costa Rica, the unemployment rate remains at 11.8%, according to the National Employment Survey. The data recorded from May to July, show that there are more than 296,000 people without registered jobs. Of these, 151,000 are women, making up 51% of unemployed people in the country.
