The Michigan-headquartered company Terumo Cardiovascular inaugurated its facilities in La Lima Free Zone in Cartago Province.
According to the firm, there was a total investment of $42 million to develop its manufacturing plant of medical devices for cardiac and vascular surgery. The company's new facilities are about 157,000 ft2, which includes 25,000 ft2 of clean rooms (production), warehouses, office space, a cafeteria, a doctor's office, and a lactation room, among others.
Costa Rica operations are home to the Perfusion Circuit Technology and Manufacturing Center becoming the first company to produce this line of medical equipment in the country.
Local operations employ approximately 245 associates today and are estimated to hire about 300 new employees in the production and administrative departments. People interested in a job vacancy should contact the firm by emailing tcvcr.reclutamiento@terumomedical.com
