“Costa Rica continues to be a strategic location with amazing talent that allows us to support 45 BAT Markets, including the Americas, from Canada and the United States to Chile, as well as some countries from South Europe," said Gustavo Guzman, company General Manager in Costa Rica. "We are focused on building a better tomorrow, providing best-in-class solutions and commercial value, along with cutting-edge technology solutions.”
British American Tobacco Group is one of many international companies expanding operations in Costa Rica. Last week, the New York-based Pfizer, announced the expansion of its operations in the country.
Although several companies are offering jobs, Costa Rica remains with a 15.3% unemployment rate, according to the National Employment Survey. The survey reveals that there are approximately more than 378,000 people without registered jobs in the country from July to September 2021.
