Before planning your weekend outdoor activities take into account the well-known sanitary guidelines to avoid getting infected by covid-19 and the weekend driving restrictions. Here is a list of in-person activities for this weekend, beginning today through Sunday, Nov. 21.
Stop by the free artisan crafts and handmade products fair at the Moravia Recreational Park in Moravia Canton, San José, organized by the Moravia Cantonal Committee. The fair starts at 9 a.m. Call for more information, 2240-4542.

The film documentary "Send Proof" will be displayed at the New Life New Glory Church. The film director Elijah Stephens will give a free short conference about his film. Diquis Museum offers walking tours through the archeological zone known as Finca Sitio 6 in Palmar Sur, Osa Canton, Puntarenas Province. Tours are from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The ticket is $7 pp and must be paid by credit or debit card. Call for more information 2100- 6000.
Simón Bolívar Zoo in downtown San José opens at 9 a.m. The place is home to more than 70 species of animals and a large number of tropical plants. Entrance costs about $7 pp at the zoo box office.
Santa Ana Conservation Center, located in the San José Province, opens at 9 a.m. The place has animal farms, trails and tropical gardens. The entry costs about $7 pp and can be purchased at the zoo's box office.
Lankester Botanical Gardens, a set of gardens located in Dulce Nombre Canton, Cartago Province, opens from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The entry price is about $10 pp at the box office. Reserve a spot by calling 2511-7949.
Shooting training at Shooting Range 38 in Moravia Canton, San José, organized by the Practical Shooting Association. Training for beginners starts at 9 a.m. Shooters must bring their registered firearm, pistol holster and 50 bullets. The cost is $19 pp. Call for more information, 8378-8656.
Dog walking tour will take place at Escazu hills in San José. The activity is for all ages organized by El Brujo Tours. Concerts and shows
The San José Concert Band will give a free concert featuring movies soundtracks at the National Museum, downtown San José. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. Call for more information, 2211-5700.
The Cartago Concert Band will give a free concert in tribute to classic rock music. The concert will take place at the Municipal Amphitheater in Cartago at 7 p.m.

Friday and Saturday, opera tenor Joaquin Yglesias concert at the Melico Salazar Theater, downtown San José. The classic Christmas carols concert begins at 7 p.m. Tickets between $25 to $ 43 pp on sale at Eticket.com
The Folk Music Festival "Harvesting Dreams" features the Ticos de Corazón Folk Ballet. The show starts at 2 p.m. in the Gymnasium Polideportivo in Santo Domingo, in Heredia. Tickets $3 pp. Make reservations by calling 8346-6569.

The free Chucheca de Oro National Theater Festival, in Puntarenas City, is organized by the Municipality and the Puntarenas Tourism Promotion Board. On Friday the show starts at 6 p.m. at the Paseo de los Turistas boulevard. On Saturday and Sunday, the plays will take place at the Casa de la Cultura starting at 2 p.m. Call the line of the Tourism Promotion Board 2634-9148 for more information.
National Theater, downtown San José, presents the play "Violeta ahora respira con branqueas," (Violet now breathes with gills in the English Language), which won the National Dramaturgy Contest 2020. On Friday and Saturday, the show starts at 7 p.m. On Sunday at 5 p.m. Tickets cost $13 pp and are on sale at the theater box office.
Children's Museum will present the Costa Rican movie "Los tres Encantos" (the three charms in the English language). The kids' movie will be displayed at National Auditorium. Tickets cost $7pp on sale at the museum website.
Museum of Art, in downtown Sabana, presents the free art exhibit, "Habitat Worlds" by Christian Wedel and Latin American art from private collections. The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information call 2257-7202.
Jade Museum, in downtown San José, will present the archaeological exhibit of the artistic pre-colonization period. Entry price $32. The exhibition will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call 2521-6610.
Gold Museum, in downtown San José, presents the exhibition of Costa Rican bills and coins since 1850. In addition, the new bicentennial coin will be displayed. Also, in the exhibit are the 700 pieces of handcrafted gold made by the first population in Costa Rica. The museum opens from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Entry price is $15.
This weekend, at local movie theaters, the new film playing is "Encanto," a Disney animated musical fantasy film about the Madrigals family, who live in an enchanting town in the mountains of Colombia.
Additional films in theaters are: "Eternals," GhostBusters, " Clara Sola," “Dune,” among others. Most of the movie theaters are requesting the ticket to be purchased online, such as Magaly, CCM Cinemas, Cinepolis and CineMark.
