Plan for tourist marina

The plan for the construction of a new marina tourist complex for cruise ships in Limón Province was announced by the Board of Port Administration and Economic Development of the Atlantic Coast (Japdeva).

According to authorities, the total cost of the marina project was estimated at $854 million and it will be built next to the Hernán Garrón Salazar Port in Limón Beach.



The new 27-hectare tourist complex will include an area for the arrival of cruise ships, a new building to allocate Migration offices customs offices and banks for attending tourists, a shopping zone, a restaurant zone, souvenirs and handcraft market, hotels, villas and large parking areas among other facilities.

 

Authorities expect to inaugurate the new marina in 2026.


Another important urban project named Government City was recently announced by the government. The new city construction will be financed with a loan of $450 million from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration.
