By the A.M. Costa Rica staff The Ministry of Health has issued 3,373,000 covid-passes so far. The covid-pass is obtained through a Quick Response Security code, QR, which is a type of barcode that contains the person's vaccination information. This technology will allow for quick verification of the status of vaccination against covid-19. The voluntary use of this requirement to enter most places such as shops, restaurants, tourist places, among others, will take effect on Feb. 7. The covid-passes data is based on people vaccinated before December 19, 2021. The numbers also include people who were vaccinated abroad and requested to obtain the certificate of vaccination against covid-19 issued in Costa Rica. Authorities recommend that people who have been vaccinated against covid abroad and do not yet have their covid-pass, apply for this requirement on the website of the Ministry of Health that was enabled to provide this certification service. Costa Rica has even made it easier for all people to obtain the covid-pass for everyone who was inoculated in the Central American country. The country provides help centers to assist fully-vaccinated people in getting their covid-pass. About 82% of the so-called "target population" or 3.5 million people are fully vaccinated in Costa Rica. ------------------------ What have you heard about expats having problems obtaining the covid-pass?
