By the A.M. Costa Rica staff More than 150 support centers to obtain the covid pass have been enabled in the country. The mandated covid pass is obtained through a Quick Response Security code, QR, which is a type of barcode that contains the person's vaccination information. This technology will allow for quick verification of the status of vaccination against covid-19. An increase in tourism has over-saturated the website for the application called "Acceso Salud" (Health Access in the English language), implemented by the Ministry of Health to provide the covid pass to people who have received the covid vaccine in Costa Rica. The purpose of the new help centers is to assist fully-vaccinated people who have experienced problems in obtaining the covid pass or who require the printed document. The help centers were launched in 75 Social Security public clinics, known as Ebais, in 18 municipalities and 60 public libraries in the country. People interested to get the covid pass should visit their local Ebais, library or municipality. The complete list of support offices can be found on the official government website of Casa Presidencial. According to Jorge Mora, director of the Ministry of Technology, due to the need of some people to have the covid pass printed, some companies are offering the services of printing this QR code on different objects such as Keychain, plastic cards, among others. However, Mora recommends that people verify the use of the QR code that those print shops could make. The use of the covid pass is personal, so those print shops must destroy the copy or information they obtain. This must be done in compliance with the law on the protection of personal data, Mora said. Last week, three apps required to read covid pass for companies were enabled. Last month, government announced the new covid pass rules for business owners' requesting for leniency in implementing the strict mandate. ------------------------------- What have you heard about expats having problems obtaining the covid pass?
