Honda, the Japanese multinational conglomerate manufacturer of automobiles headquartered in Minato, Tokyo, warns against electric vehicles not being authorized to circulate in Costa Rica.

FACO company, the authorized firm for the distribution of Honda vehicles in Costa Rica, warned about the sale of electric vehicles of its brand without authorization or manufacturer guarantees.

This is the Honda "e:NS1" model that is manufactured in China only to be driven in that country.

According to FACO, units of this vehicle model have been detected that have entered Costa Rica through other importers that do not have a formal contract with Honda.

"Being an electric vehicle that is not authorized by American Honda Motor in Costa Rica, unfortunately, it is not covered by any Honda warranty," FACO said in its statement.

In case of failures in those vehicles imported by other companies, FACO is not empowered to carry out any type of service, maintenance and import of spare parts for this model.

This company, which maintains the exclusive distribution of the Honda brand in the country for more than 50 years, in 1969, warns that Honda has not authorized the importation or circulation of this model in Costa Rica.

The Honda "e:NS1," as well as another model e:NP1, are manufactured by Dongfeng Honda and Guangqi Honda respectively. Both are smaller, front-wheel-drive battery electric vehicles compared with the original Japanese model.

People interested in verifying their vehicles should call the FACO company at 2010-4100.
